University Medical Center Tucson Arizona Nursing

Professional Nursing Practice at UMC

University Medical Center (UMC) was the first hospital in Arizona to take the bold step of instituting nurse-to-patient ratios. We offer 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratios during the day and 1:5 patient ratios at night on all of our adult medical/surgical/telemetry and pediatric units. Nurses are supported by patient care technicians, giving them time to connect with and care for each patient.

Excellent patient care, continuing educational opportunities in healthcare, community service, and participation in pioneering treatments and research set UMC in Tucson, Arizona, apart from other hospitals.

Fresh air, warm and sunny days, friendly people, majestic mountain views and a thriving cultural scene set Tucson, Arizona, apart from other cities.
